AI deployment and governance: Live is where the real work starts.

Deploy takes the system proven in Build and puts it into production on infrastructure you control, with the security, monitoring and governance your auditors expect. We roll it out in stages, so trust is earned step by step and people decide when it's ready for each next step.

How we roll out: No big bang. Trust, earned in stages.

Most AI projects that fail in production don't fail on the technology. They fail because they were switched on for everyone at once, before anyone trusted them.

We increase the system's autonomy one stage at a time. Each stage has exit criteria agreed in advance, and it only moves on when the evidence says it should.

Stage 1

Shadow

The system runs alongside your team on real work, but nobody acts on its output. We compare its answers with what your people actually did.

Moves on whenAccuracy meets the agreed bar on real cases, and the edge cases are understood
Stage 2

Assisted

The system drafts and a person approves every output. Every edit they make is captured to improve it.

Moves on whenUsers rate it useful, and edits fall below the agreed level
Stage 3

Limited release

We go live for one team, site or customer segment, at the level of autonomy the use case calls for.

Moves on whenSuccess measures hold in live use, and support load is manageable
Stage 4

Full release

Rolled out to everyone it was built for, with monitoring, support and a route into Scale.

Layer 3 of the AI stack, Where it runs: Your data, your boundary.

Where the system runs decides your data residency, your running costs and how much control you keep. There's no single right answer, so we recommend based on your data, budget and risk appetite, and we design so you can move later without starting again.

Managed AI service

Data controlLow–mid
Speed to launchVery high
Cost predictabilityLow–mid
Ops effort for youVery high
Model choiceVery high
Best for

Getting value quickly from the strongest models, where the data is low-risk or can be masked first.

Watch out for

Per-use costs that grow with volume, and dependence on the provider's terms and regions.

Your cloud tenancy

Data controlHigh
Speed to launchHigh
Cost predictabilityMedium
Ops effort for youHigh
Model choiceHigh
Best for

Businesses already on a major cloud that want everything under their own security policies and contracts.

Watch out for

Cloud skills on your side, and making sure the regions you need offer the models you want.

UK private hosting

Data controlVery high
Speed to launchMedium
Cost predictabilityHigh
Ops effort for youHigh
Model choiceMedium
Best for

Sensitive personal data, strict UK residency requirements and steady high volumes, where a fixed cost beats paying per use.

Watch out for

Open models need careful evaluation against your task, and capacity has to be planned ahead.

On-premises

Data controlVery high
Speed to launchLow–mid
Cost predictabilityVery high
Ops effort for youLow–mid

Best for

Data that must never leave your site, very low latency needs, or poor connectivity at the sites that use it.

Watch out for

Upfront hardware cost, physical security, and keeping the hardware and models up to date.

The go-live gate: Nothing goes live until every box is ticked.

Every deployment passes the same production-readiness gate. Automated checks prove what can be proven, and named people sign off the rest.

Quality

  • Evaluation baselineAccuracy measured against a test set of real cases, kept for regression checks
  • Edge cases documentedKnown failure modes recorded, with how the system handles each one
  • Users approve the outputThe people who use it day to day confirm it's good enough

Security

  • Security review closedEvery finding from the review fixed or formally accepted
  • Access and secretsSingle sign-on, least-privilege access, and secrets held in a vault
  • Prompt-injection testsThe system tested against attempts to make it misbehave or leak data
  • Risk accepted by an ownerAny remaining risk signed off by a named person

Data protection

  • DPIA approvedData protection impact assessment completed and signed off
  • Records of processingRecords updated, and supplier and sub-processor agreements in place
  • Retention and deletionLogs and data kept only as long as needed, with deletion automated

Operations

  • Monitoring and alertsQuality, cost, latency and errors tracked, with alerts routed to a person
  • Rollback testedGoing back to the previous version rehearsed, not just written down
  • Cost limitsSpending caps and alerts so running costs can't run away
  • Runbook completeClear steps for the common incidents, written for your team

People

  • Users trainedIncluding when to trust it, when to override it and how to report problems
  • Named ownerSomeone in your business accountable for the system
  • Support routeWho to call, how quickly they'll respond, and how to escalate
  • Go-live decisionMade together by your decision-maker and our lead engineer

Running safely: Guardrails built in, not bolted on.

AI systems can be wrong with total confidence. So every system we deploy is designed to catch mistakes, contain them and hand over to a person when it should.

Monitored from day one

Quality, response times, cost and drift tracked from the first live request, with alerts that reach a person.

Input and output checks

Personal data masked where it isn't needed, and unsafe or off-topic requests and answers filtered.

Human fallback

When confidence is low or the stakes are high, the system hands the case to a person instead of guessing.

Full audit trail

Every request, answer, model version and human override is logged, so you can explain any decision later.

Pinned versions

Models and prompts are versioned and pinned, so a provider's update can't quietly change how your system behaves.

Rollback and kill switch

A tested route back to the previous version, plus an off switch that your own people can use.

Governance: Ready for your auditors, and your customers' auditors.

Larger customers will ask hard questions about how you use AI and where their data goes. We hand you the evidence to answer them, drawn from the same work we do to answer due-diligence questionnaires from enterprise clients of our own.

Questions · Deploy

Common questions about deploying AI into production.

Where can our AI system run?

On a managed AI service, in your own cloud account, on UK private hosting, or on hardware at your site. We recommend one based on your data, budget and risk appetite, and design so you can move later.

How do you roll out safely?

In four stages: shadow running alongside your team, assisted with a person approving every output, a limited release, then full release. Each stage has exit criteria agreed in advance, and people decide when to move on.

What has to be true before go-live?

Every system passes the same go-live gate across quality, security, data protection, operations and people. Named people sign off the data protection impact assessment, the remaining risk and the go-live decision itself.

How do you meet EU AI Act transparency rules?

People are told when they're dealing with an AI, AI-generated content is labelled, a person can review or override decisions, and inputs, outputs and overrides are logged.

What happens if something goes wrong in production?

Alerts go to a named engineer who knows your system. Every deployment has a tested rollback route and an off switch your own people can use.

Next: Scale: One success, then the next.

Once it's proven in production, we roll the system out across teams and workflows, and use what we've learned to bring the next use case in faster and cheaper.
